ASK A TRAINER: How Often Should I Incorporate A Rest Day In My Routine?

C: Hi and welcome back to another segment
of Ask A Trainer. Today I’m here with Master Trainer, Geoff. Today’s question is, “How often should
I incorporate a rest day into my weightlifting routine?” G: Rest and recovery is extremely important
to your success in the weight room, so, on average, you’re going to want to take anywhere
between 2 to 3 rest days a week. So, if you’re going to work out on Monday
take Tuesday off, as far as strength training is concerned. Do some cardio, don’t be a slug, but as
far as strength training, take that day off. Do more on Wednesday, take Thursday off, do
more Friday. So that way you’re giving your body enough
recovery so that way when you come back and workout in the gym again with that strength
training routine you’re going to be nice and strong and ready to go. C: Sounds good, send us in your questions,
follow us on YouTube, and we’ll see you next time!
