The Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument will be installed at three sites in Illinois and Mississippi: the Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ in Chicago, where Emmett’s funeral was held; the Tallahatchie County Courthouse in Sumner, Mississippi, where those accused of killing him were acquitted by an all-white jury; and a bank of the Tallahatchie River in Mississippi, where his body was discovered.
