Actress Melissa Joan Hart says she helped the children flee moments after the fatality Nashville school shooting on Monday.
The “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” star shared an emotional video on instagram on tuesday which he filmed the day of the shooting at The Covenant School. She said the riot took place “right next door” to the school her children attend.
“We moved here from Connecticut, where we were at a school just down from Sandy Hook,” he said, referring to the 2012 mass shooting that left 20 children dead in Newtown, Connecticut. “So this is our second experience with a school shooting with our children in close proximity.”
The actress said that her family is fine and that her children were not at school on Monday. Hart later recalled how she and her husband, musician Mark Wilkerson, were on their way to school for lectures when they came across students who were apparently running away from their school.
“We helped a class of kindergartners cross a busy road coming out of the woods, trying to escape the shooter situation at their school,” Hart said. “So we help all these little children to cross the street and get their teachers there. We help a mother reunite with her children.”
“I just don’t know what to say anymore,” Hart said. “It’s just, enough is enough. Just pray. Pray for the families.”
