Review: Orangetheory Fitness

Hey everyone is Amy Scalia with Cincy Chic. I’m here at Orangetheory Fitness. I’ve been wanting to check this place out because what they do is they have a really a scientific workout that even after you’re done working out they can burn up to 200 to 300 more calories after 24 to 36-hour period. So, I can’t wait to check it out let’s go see what it’s all about. I’ve been hearing a ton of my friends talk about Orangetheory Fitness lately so I decided to take a class and it was the best workout ever. I loved how they switch things up every minute or two. It was running, rowing weights, arms, legs, abs and probably parts I won’t know about until they hurt tomorrow. My inner tech geek loved it too All of the stats are monitored live on a screen which is nice to know all your levels in real time, but also if you like a little friendly competition it’s really good motivation. The idea is to keep yourself in the “orange zone.” They have you wear a heart rate monitor and these high intensity workouts, which change every time you come in, they’re scientifically designed to help you keep your heart rate in a target zone that spikes metabolism and increases energy They call it the “after burn.” So, what that means is if you stay within goal you burn an extra 200 to 300 calories after your workout within 24 to 36 hours. Then you get emailed all of your stats after each workout and you can track them in their app – and you can also schedule through the app. Lots of fun stuff.
