THIS IS SO IMPORTANT BECAUSE IT’S VERY COMMON FOR A LOT OF US, MYSELF INCLUDED, TO SET GOALS AND LOSE THE SIGHT OF MAYBE OF WHAT YOU WERE GOING FOR AS THE YEAR PROGRESSES. A LOT OF TIMES NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS FAIL. WHY IS THAT? I LIKE TO TALK ABOUT WHY THEY SUCCEED. OKAY. NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS SUCCEED WHEN PEOPLE ARE REALLY CLEAR IN THEIR PURPOSE FOR THE CHANGE LIKE THE WAY, WHY,WHAT’S BEHIND IT. AND WHEN THE ROAD GETS TOUGH, THEY HAVE THE REASON WHY THEY CHANGE. MANY GOALS AREN’T NECESSARILY MET. GREAT QUESTION AND THE REASON BEING IS QUITE SIMPLE. THAT’S BECAUSE PEOPLE, WHEN THEY FOCUS ON THE OUTCOME, THAT’S REALLY NOT THE BEHAVIOR. SO INSTEAD IF WE THINK ABOUT WHAT BEHAVIOR WE’D RATHER HAVE IN OUR LIFE IS GEE, I WANT TO DRINK MORE WATER, I WANT TO HYDRATE BECAUSE MY SKIN GLOWS, THEN THAT’S SOMETHING MORE COMPELLING. RIGHT. WHEN YOU ACTUALLY ARE LOOKING LONG-TERM, RIGHT, SOMETHING THAT’S A DAILY CHANGE VERSUS THE END GOAL THAT WILL YOU’RE WORKING TOWARDS. AT LEAST FOR ME, THAT’S A BIG THING . YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO LOSE THE WEIGHT BUT ACTUALLY HAVING TO MAKE THE CHANGES TO GET THERE IS ACTUALLY PRETTY HARD. WHAT WOULD BE A WAY TO SET A HEALTHY GOAL FOR SUCCESS INSTEADA FAILURE? WELL, I WOULD SAY START TO THINK ABOUT A HABIT THAT YOU WANT TO DO AND TO TIE IT TO SOMETHING THAT ALREADY EXISTS IN YOUR LIFE. FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO MOVE AND HAVE A MORE ACTIVE LIFESTYLE, THINK ABOUT SOMETHING YOU’RE ALREADY DOING EVERY DAY. FOR US, MY HUSBAND AND I, WHEN WE HAD ADOPTED OUR LITTLE PUPPY, BEFORE WE HAVE OUR CUP OF COFFEE, WE GRAB THE DOG AND WE WALK OUR DOG AROUND THE BLOCK, SO SOMETHING THAT EXISTS EVERY DAY. GOOD TO KNOW. THAT MAKES ME THINK LIKE BECAUSE I’VE ALREADY WALK AROUND THE STUDIO, MAYBE I CAN ADD A LITTLE JOG IN. YOU COULD. A WALL PUSHUP. THERE YOU GO, A WALL PUSHUP.
